Marukin at Pine Street Market, one of two locations outside of Tokyo.
Marukin Ramen is a Japanese noodle institution, with over ten locations in and around Tokyo. When two unlikely friends bonded over a midnight session of hockey in the streets of Tokyo, the concept of a U.S. outpost of Marukin came alive and born was Marukin Portland. With two busy locations close-in Portland, and major press surrounding the openings, Marukin needed to adapt to the U.S. market, and set itself apart from the plethora of ramen shops in town (other than the amazing paitan and the ebi karrage). This is achieved in part by translating the brand experience and voice to a digital medium, as well as educating noodle enthusiasts what goes into a good bowl of ramen.
Marukin Ramen is set apart because of the exceptional quality at accessible prices. There can be lots of ramen shops in Portland, but Marukin is your jet-setting cousin that you actually want to hang out with when you get the chance -- not your stuffy great-aunt who you can never feel comfortable around.

Look & Feel
Marukin is fun, relaxed, and calls Portland home, but is quintessentially Japanese. From imagery, to copy, to choice in digital advertising, it stays true to their Tokyo roots while still having fun.
